RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are XML files designed for
distributing regularly updated content across the Internet. The Joint Information Center supplies
all EAS (Emergency Alert System) Messages, Press Releases, and Plant Status Reports
as RSS feeds. Once one of these items is published on the JIC, it becomes available for RSS Reader
tools to capture that item and notify you that there is new JIC content for you to read. This allows
you to be informed of new JIC content being published without constantly monitoring the website.
In order to take advantage of RSS Feeds, you must download a third party tool called an RSS Reader.
Examples of reader programs include: Bloglines, SharpReader, and NewsGator. The basic use of these
programs is relatively easy and many of these products tie directly into Microsoft Outlook or other email
tools to allow you to quickly receive new RSS message in the same place where you receive new email.
In order to subscribe to one of our regularly updated RSS feeds,
you need to add its URL from the list below to your RSS Reader.
